About WikiChromebook
WikiChromebook is a catalogue of Chromebooks sold at the store, from small classroom models to Chromebook Plus laptops and screens that fold into a tablet. Each entry carries what the seller printed in the title and a price with the minute we read it, so a shortlist for a school bag or a desk can be built in one sitting.
What a title tells us, and what it leaves out
Screen size, memory, internal storage, the processor family, a touch screen, a folding hinge and a student or business label are taken from the words of the listing title. If a title does not name one of them, that cell stays empty rather than being filled in from a model number or from another seller's page. A title that lists an SD card or a dock next to the drive is read for the drive alone.
No Chromebook here was borrowed, timed or dropped
We have not run a lesson on any of these, left one on a school desk for a term or counted the hours a charge lasts. For that reason you will not find a battery score, a verdict on the keyboard or a ranking by how fast a tab opens. How long a model keeps getting updates is for Google's own update policy page and the maker to say, and the Learn section points there instead of guessing.
Prices, and when we read them
A price is shown beside the time it was taken from the store. Once it is too old to trust it is taken down, because a stale figure that looks current misleads more than a blank.
How the site pays for itself
WikiChromebook is an Amazon Associate. A purchase made after one of our links pays the site a small fee from Amazon and costs you nothing extra. Income of that kind has no say in the order of any list; the filters you pick and the price decide it.
The guides set Chromebooks side by side on the specifications sellers state and on price alone. In Learn we explain terms such as eMMC, ChromeOS updates or Linux on a Chromebook, drawing on Google's help pages, and the front page says how many Chromebooks the catalogue holds today.
